Nkia Richardson joined CASA of San Mateo County as Executive Director in 2018 after serving on their Board of Directors for 5 years. She comes to her current role with extensive knowledge and experience in the legal field and as a passionate advocate for children and families. She began her legal career as a dependency attorney in Los Angeles County with Dependency Court Legal Services (now dba Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles) where she represented children and parents. Prior to joining CASA, Nkia worked as a Senior Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Jose litigating employment and civil rights cases. She also served on the Board of Trustees for The Carey School in San Mateo and Menlo School in Atherton, CA. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and English from Tufts University and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
